Select Android devices set to receive new emojis

Google"s Senior Vice President, Hiroshi Lockheimer has revealed through Twitter that Google will be rolling out updates to its keyboard which will bring with it new emojis, including a unicorn, a lion and a crab. Unfortunately for emoji fans, the update will only be coming to Nexus devices for the time being. Third party OEMs will release the update for their devices at their own pace.

Users on Nexus devices will be able to get the new keyboard through a system update, they"re also releasing a new system image for those who want to flash the update manually if they"re switching back from another ROM or don"t want to wait for the OTA update.

Along with new emojis, Lockheimer also revealed that the newly updated keyboard would arrive with a new font and new code which is expected to fix bugs.
