The official unveiling date—September 10—for the next iteration of the iPhone lineup is drawing ever so close. Yesterday, we learned that Apple, for the first time in its history, will be live streaming the launch event on YouTube.
Today, according to Apple Insider, retailers are preparing for the launch of the new handset on store shelves beginning September 20, and pre-orders for the device are expected to initiate on September 13.
The Cupertino firm is also preparing to reopen its iconic Fifth Avenue store in New York. According to the source, Apple plans to reintroduce the store by reopening it in tandem with the iPhone going on sale on September 20. The iconic cube closed two years back for renovation and is now almost ready to showcase Apple hardware again. The massive geometric structure mimics the rather colorful set of invites that Apple has sent out to people for its launch event.
On September 10, the Apple Watch Series 5 is expected to make an appearance along with a new set of iPads, a refresh to the Apple TV 4K, and the Apple TV+ streaming service. Of course, nothing is set in stone for now. However, just a few more days remain until the official word on the launch event, so stay tuned.
