If you’re sporting an Honor 8 flagship phone, and want to try out the latest and greatest version of the EMUI user interface, as well as Android 7.0 Nougat, you can apply to beta test it right now. EMUI 5.0 will soon be available on your device, but you can get it first over on XDA Developers.
Some of you may be familiar with the newest version of EMUI, as it’s the one featured on Huawei’s recently announced Mate 9. EMUI 5.0 comes with a cleaner interface, better performance, and security improvements in terms of privacy, mobile payments, and app usage.
More importantly, EMUI 5.0 is built on top of Android 7.0 Nougat, which has been around for a good long while now, but is still on less than 1% of Android devices.
If you want to join the test you’ll need to have an Honor 8 handset, model FRD-L04 or model FRD-L02. You can tell which devices you have by looking on the back of the phone, under the Honor logo. After that you just need to click here, and enter some contact details.
There are only very few beta tester spots available, so you might want to sign up sooner, rather than later.
