It"s always a pain to travel by plane but it can be especially rough over the holidays. If you are one of those folks who are flying in the United States during this time period to be with your loved ones, Microsoft"s Skype division has a nice offer for its users. The official Skype blog site has announced that from December 21-27 travelers at over 50 US airports will be able to connect for free to the airport"s WiFi Internet connection for one hour.
The free hour of wireless Internet will be available for any user of a PC or Mac that has a Skype app installed. It is also available on any iOS device with the Skype app (that"s the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad). For some reason Android Skype users won"t be able to benefit from the free WiFi access at the airports that are participating in the program.
The blog has an interactive map which shows exactly which airports are going to offer the free hour of WiFi access via Skype. It includes all three major airports in the New York City area, along with the two big Chicago airports, the massive Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and many more.
