Snapchat has quickly become a cornerstone application for the youth. While there has been a rumor of Yahoo"s impending investment in the company, Snapchat is still forging ahead with new ideas for its unique service. Starting today, users will be able to send cash instantly to friends using the popular application.
Snapcash is a partnership between Snapchat and Square. What started as an internal project for the programming team has quickly blossomed into a full-fledged new feature for the public. Some might doubt the overall security of the Snapcash payment system, but Square is a fairly well known company that provides credit card processing and payment solutions.
For those interested, the setup process is fairly simple. In order to be able to send money to a user, you must assign a debit card to your account. Once that is complete, you will be able to send cash by typing in the dollar amount starting with the "$" sign. The traditional yellow enter icon will become a green dollar icon that will indicate you are going to send cash to a user. Snapchat is now available for iOS and Android.
