For a long time, the Android version of the Snapchat app was criticized for being bloated and slow compared to its iOS counterpart. That"s why last year, the company finally started working to get its Android app on a similar level to that of the iOS version, and though it"s taken some time, it seems like the new and improved is finally rolling out to everyone.
Snapchat"s announcement on Twitter doesn"t provide much in the way of details, simply teasing a new experience rebuilt for Google"s operating system. However, the Play Store listing does mention that the app was updated today to version 10.54.5.0.
With the new update, you won"t really see any significant changes to the actual design of the app, but you might notice that navigation should be faster and more fluid. Transitioning between screens happens more quickly and with less stuttering, and loading AR filters also seems to be faster now.
If you"re interested in getting the latest version of Snapchat, you can do so from the Play Store, though the new update might not be immediately available for everyone.
