Sniper Elite developer Rebellion announce 'Strange Brigade', a co-op supernatural shooter

A new third-person adventure game by Rebellion, the creators behind Sniper Elite and Zombie Army series, has been announced. Titled, Strange Brigade, it will pit up to 4 players against supernatural enemies in the "remote corners of the British Empire", and will be set during the 1930s.

Although the game"s historical accuracy may be a bit questionable, its quirky new reveal trailer, seen below, with commentary fitting the period, may spark some interest.

As showcased in the trailer, the Strange Brigade will be facing off against a number of classic mythological monsters such as mummies and zombies, as well as other creatures, including large and angry minotaurs, and even what looks like a giant walking statue of the Egyptian deity, Set.

Set"s appearance makes sense, however, as these monsters are apparently being unleashed by an Egyptian witch queen, who looks to be the game"s main villain.

To fight back against this menace, the Strange Brigade of four explorers that players will be taking control of are imbued with superhuman powers, as well as a range of weaponry to choose.

Strange Brigade does not have a release date yet but will arrive "soon" for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game"s first gameplay footage and more information will be unveiled at E3, so be sure to keep an eye out.
