Blu is known to offer plenty of affordable options when it comes to smartphones. While the company was riding a pretty good wave, it ran into a bit of problem late last year, when it was discovered that its handsets had backdoors that were sending data back to China. While a year has passed, it looks like the firm can"t catch a break during the holiday season as it is now dealing with a serious issue with one of its handsets locking customers out of their phones.
It appears that a recent update that was delivered over-the-air (OTA) is causing problems for owners of the BLU Life One X2. Once the update hits the phone, it locks customers out by stating that the password or PIN being input is incorrect. The firm has acknowledged the issue by replying to user complaints on Facebook, and claims to be looking into a fix.
As you can imagine, this is quite a serious problem, with many relying on their handsets for work and personal use. While it might not be an ideal solution, the workaround, for the time being, is to hard reset the smartphone. Unfortunately, this means that you will lose all your data if it has not been backed up prior. As of writing Blu has not provided a timeline of when a fix will be released.
