Something big is going down in Fortnite this Saturday, and you may not want to miss it

One of the most memorable occurrences in Fortnite"s history was Epic Games" decision to shake up the map in a big way by concluding the last season of the popular Battle Royale game with a meteor strike that permanently changed the map.

Now, in-game announcements for the Battle Royale mode for Fortnite are teasing another big event with the "Blast Off!" tag, lending credence to weeks of rumours that this season will culminate with the launch of some kind of missile. The last time something like this happened, players saw meteors falling from the sky and destroying things in real-time.

Guys.
Be at the rocket at 1:30pm Eastern time on Saturday.
Something big is gonna happen. And its only gonna happen once.
Thats all Im gonna say.
RT and get the word out.

In this case, however, Epic is advising users to be in-match at 10:30 am PT / 1:30 pm ET for what is supposed to be a one-time-only event. Whether this will result in something similar to the meteor strikes with missiles now raining down on the players, or some other grand spectacle remains to be seen. According to popular YouTuber Muselk, not only do you have to be in-game at the time but also at the rocket location to be able to witness the event.

It"s also not known what the longer-lasting impact of the event will be on the game, and its map, though there is some speculation that Epic could do away with either the Moisty Mire or Lonely Lodge in the same way that Dusty Depot was destroyed as a result of the meteor strike.
