Today Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) UK and EN have announced a Playstation Beta testing event for all UK residents able to get to within a mile of Birmingham New Street. It was detailed on the Playstation Europe website by the community team leader, MusterBuster.
Running on the 31st of July and 1st of August, the event is said to allow gamers to see many of the Playstation 3"s most anticipated releases, well before they are actually available. All the games at the event are either releasing this year or early next year. It is being said to be a way for gamers to get "invitations to exclusive content and an array of prizes to further enhance your gaming experience".
The games available for the event are as follows, Killzone 3, Gran Turismo 5, Motorstorm: Apocalypse, Little Big Planet 2, The Fight, Kung Fu Rider, Sports Champions, Heavy Rain Move Edition and it said that there will be many more games, presumably, 3rd party games available on the day.
Specifically for Motorstorm: Apocalypse, there is going to be a tournament held for the people who attend the Beta test. They did not specify any details on how many different "sessions" there will be for the tournament, but the winner for each of these "sessions" gets a 3DTV. For everyone else that participates, you will get a "limited edition" take home package, what is in the package was not detailed.
Playstation is also going to supply all who attend the Beta with free food and drink, to attend the event you must enter via email to betarooms@scee.net before Monday 26th July along with the preferred date of either the 31st or the 1st. It is first come, first serve so act quickly to get in, venue details will be revealed nearer to the time of the event.
