Sony has bowed to pressure from Quebec politicians and agreed to delete missions in a video game that featured terrorists engaging in bloody gunfights in a Toronto shopping mall and subway. Syphon Filter 4: The Omega Strain contained four missions in which terrorists from the fictitious Quebec Liberation Front attacked Toronto with biological weapons and machine guns. Players were encouraged to use different kinds of virtual weapons to eliminate the terrorists. Sony agreed last week to cut out the parts of the game featuring Quebec terrorists when it releases Syphon Filter 4 early next year in the interest of "corporate and social responsibility."
