Earlier this week Sony started pushing Android 4.0 to their devices. The Xperia S and the At&t version of the Ion were the first to receive it but now other devices are on the same update path. Sony revealed that the Xperia U, the Xperia Go and the Xperia Sola will be next in line to receive the update this week.
The update brings a large number of general improvements with Android 4.0 but also some device-centric ones, including "new way to experience" media on your devices. Other note worthy features would be improvements to the lock screen, a new multitasking button and the ability to resize widgets.
One of the more surprising features is specific to the Sola due to its "floating touch" technology. You can probably guess what it is from its name: "Glove Mode". As you can see in the video above, it gives you the ability to use the phone with gloves on, though we don"t yet know if it will work with a fork.
Now, Sony does mention that the availability of this new update will vary by market and, unfortunately, carrier requirements. Here"s hoping you"re one of the lucky ones.
