Today Sony, along with Atari, have revealed that Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe will get time exclusivity to publish Ghostbusters: The Video Game on its platforms in Pal territories.
The game, abandoned once already by Activision during its merger with Blizzard, is being developed by Terminal Reality and was to be published by Atari. For the region of Europe and other Pal territories Sony and Atari have come to an agreement that SCEE will be publishing the game on its already announced due date for the Playstation 2 and Playstation 3 with the Playstation Portable version following later in the year.
It is currently unknown what is happening to other platform versions of the Ghostbusters game, but it is assumed that the Xbox 360, PC, DS and Wii will have the game arrive later in the year for the EU, published by Atari themselves.
Currently the game is still dated for May 16th in North America for all versions.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game is set after the events of Ghostbusters 2 and lets you play the role of a new recuit to the team. The story the game is based around was written by Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd who both wrote the original film together and brings back the original cast for the voice work in the game.
For release on May 19th in Europe and Pal regions, the game is being tied to the 25th anniversary of the first movie, and will launch during the release of the original films on Sonys Blu-Ray disk format for High Definition viewing.
