Thanks to the PlayStation Store, gamers can connect their PSP to the PlayStation 3 console to download classic PSone games to play on the handheld. Gamers living in Japan don"t even need a PS3: Sony announced at TGS that the PlayStation Store may now be accessed using a PC connected to the web. It is unclear when or if the PC-accessible service will venture outside of Japan, but Sony is likely working on ways to sell PSP owners worldwide downloadable content.
The ability to download classic games onto the PSP came in December 2006, less than a month following the PS3"s launch. For as low as $5.99, gamers can purchase PSone classics such as Cool Boarders, Crash Bandicoot, Hot Shots Golf 2, Syphon Filter and Tekken 2 to play on PSP. In other PSP-related news, Sony announced new PSP Remote Play features, such as the ability to control the power state of the PS3.
