Since the advent of the front-facing camera on mobile devices, selfies have grown exponentially in popularity. The "selfie" has undeniably become a cultural phenomenon. Only problem? Front-facing camera sensors in mobile devices aren"t that good. But if rumors are true, Sony is finally going to rectify this issue by creating a device that can take better selfie shots.
Today, Sony teased the world on its official Xperia Twitter account with a single tweet that says simply, “see your #selfies in a whole new light.” While this could mean anything, most signs are pointing to a new selfie-centric Xperia phone.
Although unconfirmed, the XperiaBlog has gotten hold of a video that seems to show off the upcoming device. The Sony handset is rumored to be called the Xperia C3, with a front-facing LED flash that will result in better selfie images in low-light situations.
Perhaps, one of the more unique features of the device is its ability to take a selfie by double tapping the back of the phone. When double tapped, the phone will take a photo with only a few seconds of delay. The device will also feature a voice guided picture mode that will allow users to take better pictures of themselves when using the main camera.
Naturally, this is all rumor at this point, but stay tuned and find out tomorrow what Sony might have in store.
