Sony revealed Capcom"s Resident Evil 2 remake that will be arriving on consoles in 2019. The game has been talked about for some time but this is the first time it has made an appearance at a game show.
When Resident Evil 2 made its debut 20 years ago, it featured a fixed camera much like its predecessor, Resident Evil. The remake of the title will be different, switching to a new modern third-person perspective. Although graphical upgrades are surely appreciated, the change in camera view should allow players to experience the title in a whole new light.
Like the original found on the first iteration of the PlayStation, players will have the option of choosing to play between Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. While Sony nor Capcom announced a price for the game, this title will make its way to the PlayStation 4 console on January 25, 2019.
Update: Capcom has confirmed that the Resident Evil 2 remake will also be available on PC and Xbox One in addition to PlayStation 4 with a $59.99 price tag. Console pre-orders are now available via Amazon
