Sony Xperia Play to expand game library with exclusive titles

While Sony"s Playstation unit may be giving out more info on its upcoming NGP portable game console at E3 2011 next week, its Sony Ericsson wireless phone unit will also be at the video game trade show showing off its newly launched "Playstation Phone", the Sony Xperia Play. The Android 2.3 based phone was made available for sale on Verizon Wireless just last week but this week Sony Ericsson announced via a press release that even more games made especially for the device are coming soon.

One of those exclusive games, as we reported earlier in May, will be the mobile version of Minecraft, the cult hit sandbox games from developer Mojang that has sold well over 2 million units on the PC platform. Other games that will be exclusive to the phone will be Battlefield Bad Company 2 by Electronic Arts, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Shadow Vanguard by Gameloft, Ruined by BigPoint and more. In addition other non-exclusive games will be coming soon to Xperia Play owners such as the hit MMO Pocket Legends from Spacetime Studios, Vendetta Online from Guild Software and more. Release dates for these games have yet to be announced.

Sony will also release a number of games from its Playstation unit for its Xperia Play phone as well. Specifically more games from the classic Playstation 1 console will soon make its way to the phone unit. Sony will reveal more info and showcase a number of the games for Xperia Play at E3 2011 next week.
