For quite some time, Sony has carried the same design across all of its smartphones. While this used to look modern, the larger bezels that can be found on the top and bottom of its phones have gotten a bit long in the tooth, especially when compared to offerings from Samsung, LG, and a few others. It appears that the firm is now coming into the new year with a new design.
According to the leaked render, the Xperia XZ2 looks like it will come with a nearly bezel-less design. While many companies have focused on minimizing the top and bottom bezels, it looks like Sony will approach things a bit different, as it will look to minimize the bezel on three sides and leave the top end slim, which will house the front-facing camera, along with the earpiece and various sensors.
As for specifications, the smartphone will apparently arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch 4K display, 64 GB of internal storage, and a dual camera setup on the rear. Unfortunately, it is unknown when this will release, but with CES 2018 just around the corner, there is the possibility that we will see this released in January or maybe at Mobile World Congress in March next year.
