The Xperia Z2, the latest flagship smartphone from Sony will be generally available in the UK starting 1 May while pre-ordered devices will start shipping from April 14th.
Due to limited available stocks, Sony is believed to have pushed back the general availability of the Z2 to May. However, retailers Carphone Warehous and Phones4U, who accepted pre-orders for the smartphone have enough units to ship to the pre-order customers and will do so very soon. Phones4U has announced that shipping will start from April 14th for these customers.
Sony announced the Xperia Z2 at the Mobile World Congress 2014 and the smartphone has been highly anticipated by customers around the world due to its top of the line specifications and attractive design.
The smartphone features a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor running at 2.3GHz and 3GB of RAM, a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with 1920x1080 resolution, 16GB of built-in storage and a MicroSD card slot for expansion, a 20.7-megapixel camera with 4K recording capability and a wide set of connectivity options.
Additionally, the Z2 is a IP58 certified dust proof and water resistant device similar to its predecessor, the Xperia Z1.
