Sony's "super mid-range" Xperia XZs with 960fps slow-mo camera launches tomorrow for $699

A few weeks ago, at the Mobile World Congress expo, Sony unveiled four new smartphones. Among them was the Xperia XZs, which it described as a "super mid-range" handset, sharing some features with the new Xperia XZ Premium flagship that was announced alongside it.

The most distinctive shared feature of the two handsets is the 19-megapixel Motion Eye rear camera, which is capable of recording super-slow-motion video at a staggering 960 frames per second. In comparison, Apple"s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus can "only" record at up to 240fps.

The XZs will launch in the United States tomorrow, April 5, priced at $699 unlocked, from retailers such as Amazon, where it"s already available to pre-order. It will be offered in three colors: Black, Ice Blue, and Warm Silver.
