There was a time when Sony handsets looked modern and sleek. But, for the past several years, things have looked pretty much the same, leaving many to complain about the design direction. With Mobile World Congress (MWC) on the horizon, we now get to take an unofficial look at the next handset from the firm, which looks to brings a more modern look to its devices.
The Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact have been rumored to arrive for some time and Sony has even teased the arrival of its new handsets. From the looks of it, the Xperia XZ2 will look to shed the bezels of devices past and will offer a sleeker and more refined look for 2018. While the bezels look to be reduced they aren"t up to the level of Samsung or LG.
The Xperia XZ2 will feature a 5.7-inch display, while the Xperia XZ2 Compact will have a 5-inch screen. Both displays will be protected using Corning"s Gorilla Glass. As you might imagine, both of these handsets will be utilizing the latest from Qualcomm, running a Snapdragon 845 processor. The devices will make use of a 19MP image sensor with a f/1.8 aperture, along with stereo speakers that will provide immersive sound for users. As for the battery, the XZ2 will make use of a 3,180mAh, while the Compact will have a 2,870mAh battery. Both will accept a charge via USB Type-C and will be able to also charge wirelessly.
Both handsets are expected to arrive in multiple colors with full details being revealed this upcoming Monday. Be sure to stay tuned for all the MWC coverage on Neowin.
