Koreans take their gaming seriously, especially Starcraft. When you hear a story about someone dying after days straight with no food or water it is usually someone from Korea. In an effort to cut back that extreme gaming lifestyle the South Korean government has issued a mandatory curfew.
The government will shut down internet access for 6 hours each night to 19 specific games. The curfew is only targeted at underage gamers. It will also monitor the amount of time that kids spend playing the games. If someone plays for more than 6 hours at a time their connection will be throttled.
Despite efforts by the government, true hardcore gamers may have multiple internet connections in their home. While this effort is a solid first step towards regulating online gaming it is hardly a catch all solution.
