In February, Ubisoft announced that South Park: The Fractured But Whole - the follow-up to The Stick of Truth - had been delayed, with no firm release date planned.
The new game was originally due to launch on December 6, 2016, but in September, Ubisoft said that its release had been pushed back to the first quarter of 2017, before it was delayed further earlier this year. At the time, the company said: "The development team wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans and the additional time will help them achieve this goal."
Ubisoft said in February that the game would launch sometime during its current fiscal year, which ends in March 2018. But today, the official South Park Twitter account revealed that it now has a new release date: October 17, 2017. The five months between now and then will hopefully give the game"s developers enough time to give it the polish that they, and the series" fans, are hoping for.
When it finally arrives, South Park: The Fractured But Whole will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. You can get a sense of what to expect from the new game in the video below:
