Spike TV to show Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference live June 6

Unless you are one of the lucky few that were invited to physically attend Microsoft"s pre-E3 press conference this year in Los Angeles, you might think that you would have to wait until you read about it on various web sites. However, this year Microsoft is teaming with the Spike TV to broadcast the 90 minute press briefing on June 6 live at 12:30 pm Eastern time on June 6.

If you are not in front of a TV during that time, you can also check out a high definition streaming video version of the broadcast on Gametrailers.com. Live streaming video of the event will also be made available on MTV.com, Spike.com, Xbox.com/e3, the Facebook web site and mobile platforms. If you are in Times Square in New York City, you can also catch the Xbox 360 press briefing live on the big screens at that location. Finally, Xbox 360 console users will be able to download the HD video version of the press briefing after it is broadcast.

Microsoft is expected to show off a number of upcoming Xbox 360 games at the event including new footage of its exclusive shooter Gears of War 3. We can also expect to see more games that will support its Kinect motion controller camera that launched last November.

Microsoft isn"t the only company planning to hold big pre-E3 press conferences on Monday, June 6. Sony is also expected to hold its pre-E3 press briefing on that day and publishers Ubisoft and Electronic Arts will hold their own big press events on that same date. On Tuesday June 7, just before E3 2011 opens up its exhibit doors at the LA Convention Center, Nintendo will hold its E3 press conference where it will officially unveil its next generation game console.
