Spotify rolled out real-time lyrics support in selected countries earlier this year as a part of its "Behind the Lyrics" feature. Now, the company is officially bringing real-time lyrics support in 26 markets worldwide thanks to its partnership with Musixmatch. Spotify was previously relying on Genius for real-time lyrics support in select markets, but with its partnership with Musixmatch, the company is able to bring the feature to a wider range of markets. This partnership will also provide Spotify with the world"s biggest catalog of lyrics and translations.
The real-time lyrics will be shown in the language of the song itself and can be accessed by tapping the "Lyrics" button located at the bottom of the Now Playing screen.
The list of the countries where real-time lyrics will be available in Spotify from June 30 includes Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, El Salvador, Uruguay, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
In total, Spotify now offers real-time lyrics support in 27 markets worldwide. The company was already offering real-time lyrics in Japan with another provider.
