Sprint will finally be able to sell its version of Apple"s iPhone 4S on Friday. It"s a big deal for the nation"s third biggest wireless company but if a new rumor from Boy Genius Report is to be believed, Sprint and Apple are trying to make sure that the iPhone 4S launch goes off without a hitch.
The report claims that Sprint"s retail stores could received the iPhone 4S as soon as Wednesday. But if Apple"s team finds that any of the boxes have been opened or otherwise tampered with before Friday"s launch, it claims that the employees found responsible "will be fired immediately and walked out of the store." Yikes.
The story also claims that a team from Apple, or a company that will be contracted by Apple, will be in charge of setting up the iPhone 4S displays at Sprint"s retail locations on Thursday. Sprint"s stores may also be closed early on Thursday in order to prepare employees for the Friday launch.
As we reported earlier today, Apple has admitted that it received over 1 million pre-orders for the iPhone 4S on Friday. It did not go into detail on what the iPhone 4S sales were like for Sprint and the otherĀ US carriers, Verizon and AT&T. The latter company said a few days ago it received 200,000 iPhone 4S pre-orders in just its first 12 hours. If you go to Apple"s online store and ordered an iPhone 4S now it will take between one and two weeks to receive the phone.
