Midway Games announces the North American release of the PS2 and Xbox versions of its spy-hunting vehicular combat game.
Midway Games has today announced that the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of Spy Hunter 2 have shipped to stores across North America. The mission-based vehicular combat game is the sequel to 1980"s arcade game remake Spy Hunter which, since it was first released in September 2001, has sold in excess of 1.6 million units and continues to perform well under SCEA"s "Greatest Hits" and Microsoft"s "Platinum Hits" programs.
"The unique world of Spy Hunter expands in Spy Hunter 2, with an all-new devastatingly powerful and customizable G-8155 interceptor with brand-new vehicle transformations and the addition of a mysterious female agent," said Mark Beaumont, senior vice president of entertainment, Midway. "We are excited that the gaming community fully embraced the last edition of Spy Hunter and we are confident the latest iteration, Spy Hunter 2, will be equally well received."
