A couple of days ago, Square Enix accidentally posted the trailer for the upcoming Kindom Hearts III DLC on its official YouTube page. The video has since been made private and is unavailable for members of the public to view. Fortunately, the Japanese video game-maker re-posted the trailer today and announced the launch date as well as story details.
Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind comes out January 23 on PlayStation and a month later on February 25 on Xbox One next year. The launch date aligns closely with the release of the full game, Kingdom Hearts III, which hit the shelves on January 29 earlier this year.
Aside from the additional new storyline, Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind will also feature 13 new boss battles, a Limitcut episode, a secret episode, a greeting mode, slideshow features and a new mode called "Premium Menu" which will offer various difficulty settings and gameplay challenges.
The blurb for the Re Mind DLC reads:
"Re Mind – the other tale that unfolded during the climax of KINGDOM HEARTS III. Determined to rescue Kairi, Sora travels to the Keyblade Graveyard a short time before the final battle was to take place. Lacking a corporeal form, he traces the hearts of the seven guardians of light. Through experiencing their personal battles firsthand, Sora is about to discover truths that he has never before imagined."
Pre-orders for the downloadable content are currently open and can be placed here. Customers may pre-purchase just the Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind DLC for $29.99 or the package deal priced at $39.99 which includes a special concert video along with the DLC.
Additionally, Square Enix will also release free DLC for long-time fans of the game which will be available once the game is updated to version 1.07. The brand new free DLC will add to the main storyline of Kingdom Hearts III, offer new abilities to players, expand the sharing features, and add some more content to the title such as the Keyblades Oathkeeper and Oblivion, as well as new formchanges.
