Stardock releases DeskScapes 10 with WinCustomize library integration

Stardock"s DeskScapes made its debut all the way back in 2007 as a complement to the DreamScene feature that was released as an "Ultimate Extra" for Windows Vista, allowing users to set video desktop backgrounds. Now, Stardock has released DeskScapes 10 which incorporates a number of community requested capabilities.

In addition to being able to set animated or static backgrounds, users can apply over 60 unique effects to create their own distinct desktop experience while also being able to use the bundled DreamMaker solution to package up their own dreams for later use or distribution.

DeskScapes 10 boasts the following features:

  • Seamless WinCustomize library integration allows direct browsing and downloading of backgrounds from within the application.
  • A new desktop background manager, complete with the ability to mark “favorite” backgrounds, as well as modifying and saving both static and animated backgrounds.
  • Comes in light and dark theme modes to suit your personal tastes.
  • Supports h264 videos with hardware accelerated decoding where possible.
  • New additional effects you can apply to static and animated backgrounds which can now easily be combined and ordered.
  • New Premium Dreams Included: Desktop Moon and Desktop Mars
