State of Decay 2 has been played by over a million players already

Microsoft announced today that its Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive survival game, State of Decay 2, has managed to gather over a million players. The Undead Labs-developed game officially launched to standard edition owners and Xbox Game Pass subscribers on May 22, with Ultimate Edition owners gaining access a few days earlier on May 18.

Throwing around some more numbers, the company said that players have put in over six million hours into the game already, and thanks to over 41,000 streamers on Twitch, Mixer, and YouTube, almost 3.5 million hours of gameplay have been consumed by viewers across the world.

Meanwhile, more than 675 million zombies have tragically given their undead lives trying to consume players, and the average lifespan of an in-game survivor is apparently around three days.

Today"s announcement also revealed that Microsoft Studios and Undead Labs are working together on updates to resolve the horde of bugs that plague the game currently, saying that this is their "number one priority." The abundance of bugs found in the game was something that was noted in Neowin"s own review of State of Decay 2.

State of Decay 2 costs $29.99 and is available via the Microsoft Store for the Xbox One family of consoles and Windows 10. The Xbox Play Anywhere title is also part of the Xbox Game Pass program, which costs $9.99 per month to subscribe.
