Steam Link and Steam Controller included in Steam Summer Sale 2017

Valve has kicked off the 2017 Steam Summer Sale which will run until July 5. Lots of games have received discounts but so have a couple of hardware items which Valve sells, namely the Steam Controller and Steam Link. The controller has received a 30% discount down from $49.99 to $34.99 and the Steam Link has had a whopping 70% discount down from $49.99 to just $14.99.

The Steam Controller which is compatible with thousands of Steam games, has dual trackpads, HD haptics, and support for shared configurations. It"s described in the following fashion by Steam:

“The Steam Controller is an innovative input device that allows you to play games from all genres, including traditional gamepad-style games as well as games usually reserved for play with a mouse and keyboard. The Controllers are wireless and completely configurable.”

Meanwhile the plug "n" play Steam Link, that can stream content from a PC or Steam Machine to a TV at up to 1080p at 60fps, is described with the following words:

“The Steam Link allows existing Steam gamers to expand the range of their current gaming set up via their home network. Just connect your Steam PC or Steam Machine to your home network, plug into a TV, and stream your games to the Link at 1080p.”

The Summer Sale got off to a bit of a rocky start as the new hacking group on the block began a “test” attack against Steam before its main attempt. The attack claimed by CyberTeam, prevented some users making purchases while the servers were being hammered. It doesn’t bode well for Valve which had been warned of an impending denial of service attack by the group.
