Over the years, SteelSeries has built itself up to being one of the major players when it comes to accessory hardware for various gaming platforms. Today, it debuts a new product under its award-winning Arctis line, a headset specifically built for the Xbox.
The Arctis 9X takes many of the great things from the existing Arctis lines for the PC, PlayStation, and Switch, and melds it all into what looks like another solid offering from the company. The headset"s backbone is its steel headband, which provides excellent durability, but also comfort, thanks to its suspended headband made from woven "ski goggle" material. The headphones make use of 40mm drivers that can offer a frequency response between 20–22000 Hz and support for Xbox’s native Windows Sonic Spatial Audio.
You can connect the headphones to the Xbox wirelessly but also pair the unit with a Bluetooth audio device to pipe in an extra audio source while playing games. For example, you can connect it wirelessly to a phone and take calls, while at the same time hearing audio from your Xbox console. The embedded microphone can be tucked away or pulled out when needed, providing excellent audio quality thanks to the firm"s ClearCast microphone that uses "a bidirectional design for superior noise cancellation so that your voice sounds clear and natural". Perhaps best of all, SteelSeries states that the device should at least last for 20 hours but should be able to provide a bit more than that on a single charge.
