While the Google I/O developer conference is happening right now, Microsoft is in the middle of an annual event where some major leaders in business gather in Redmond, Washington to discuss various topics. However, you won"t be seeing a live stream of any of the panels or discussions at this event.
Microsoft"s 17th annual CEO Summit is a highly private affair with no direct coverage by members of the media. Microsoft"s own online newsroom has only a few details about the three day CEO Summit, which started Tuesday and will host a speech by Microsoft"s own CEO Steve Ballmer today. The FAQ on the Summit describes what Ballmer will talk about in his speech:
In this session, Steve Ballmer will discuss the most fundamental transformation in Microsoft’s history, as it shifts from a software manufacturer to a company that delivers devices and services people love and businesses need. You will hear how Microsoft is challenging assumptions about what we do and how we do it, and explore the guiding principles that are applied in propelling the company in a bold new direction.
Microsoft"s FAQ only provides the names of a few of the other business leaders that will attend the CEO Summit, including Berkshire Hathaway leader Warren Buffett and eBay President and CEO John Donahoe. Some of the summit"s panel topics have titles like "Modern Democracy: Capable of Addressing 21st-Century Challenges?" and "Game Changers: Disruption, Reinvention, and Innovation"
