Steve Jobs and Bill Gates to be featured in their own Broadway musical

Two of the biggest names - when it comes to the world of technology - are getting their own Broadway musical.

Called "Nerds," the so-called "musical-dot-comedy" musical will feature a technological insight about the rise of two tech trailblazers, former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates and the late former Apple CEO Steve Jobs. It will reportedly highlight technological breakthroughs from the "floppy disk era to the iPhone phenomenon," as well as competition between the two, and how this has helped revolutionize the way technology works today.

With the musical play being all about technology, the production also promised "the most progressive technology seen on Broadway." Holograms and projection mapping will be utilized, in order to immerse the audience further into the show. The cast, however, has not been announced yet.

"We’re thrilled to add a jolt of comedy to this already astounding theater season, with this hilarious tale of the Founding Fathers of Tech, from a creative team stacked with new voices,” said producer Carl Levin. “While fine-tuning and re-coding the show for this exciting launch, we’ve also been exploring innovative ways to enhance the "user experience’ inside the theater, for a uniquely entertaining event — compatible for Broadway audiences of all generations."

"Nerds" is set to open this coming April 21st at the Longacre Theatre on Broadway, with preview performances set by March 31. It will feature the book and lyrics by Jordan Allen-Dutton and Erik Weiner, and the music will be provided by Hal Goldberg. It will be directed by Casey Hushion.
