Street View added to Google Maps on mobile browsers

Apple is still taking some hits over its iOS 6 map apps, even after the company issued an apology for its launch last week. Today, iOS 6 users who miss having a Google Maps app on their iPhone or iPad can now access a much requested feature on the mobile web version of Google Maps.

As revealed on the company"s official Map blog, the mobile web version of Google Maps now includes the Street View feature, which now allows the mobile web version to offer ground level images instead of having to access a separate app. This feature presumably also works on Mircosoft"s version of IE 9 in Windows Phone 7.5 and Google"s own browser in the Android OS.

Google states:

To use Street View on your mobile browser simply go to maps.google.com and search for a location. Then click the “pegman” icon at the bottom right of your screen to access Street View. And to view still more helpful imagery, such as a photos shared by users or interior panoramas, visit the business’ Google+ Local page.

This new feature for the mobile version comes even as there are still rumors that Google still might launch its own Google Maps app for iOS 6 users.
