A Sydney software developer has paired up with Indian outsourcer Tata Consultancy Services in a $US100 million ($181 million) deal to supply technology to the State Bank of India.
The world"s third-largest bank - with 13,000 branches and 100 million accounts - picked the Financial Network Services B@ncs-24 package after an 18-month tender process in which the Australian firm competed against the likes of IBM and Alltel.
The Indian link has proved a boon for FNS, which expects to secure about $US20 million from the contract.
