Sun selling big on eBay

Selling expensive items of hardware are no rarity on eBay; planes, homes, cars, all are items that get traded on the the popular auction site. However, Sun Microsystems are taking their eBay partnership to a new hight.

"Sun is aggressively engaging with ... alternate markets, such as eBay, to generate new sales models where customers set the price," said John Fowler, executive vice president of Sun"s Network Systems Group. "The success of recent eBay auctions has exceeded expectations. Sun provides support for its highly scalable and reliable Solaris OS, Red Hat Linux, and SUSE Linux, with servers and workstations certified for Microsoft Windows -- the broadest operating system support in the industry."
