Microsoft today released a firmware update for the Surface Pro 3, the first in over three months.
Sadly, today"s update is a bit of a mystery. The company hasn"t yet updated its Surface Pro 3 Update History page to reflect what"s part of the new firmware, which isn"t uncommon.
Users have recently begun complaining about battery issues with the device. In fact, Microsoft issued a statement to Neowin that it was a top priority to fix the issue, so it"s possible that this update fixes that problem. Of course, we won"t know for sure until Microsoft confirms it.
The company also released firmware and driver updates for the Surface Pro 4 and Book a week ago. Those contained quite a few fixes.
If you"re a Surface Pro 3 owner, head over to Windows Update and check for updates. You"ll find one there, and it definitely fixes something. Of course, when we find out the specifics, you"ll be the first to know.
