Since unveiling its latest hardware earlier this month, Microsoft"s new Surface devices have proved popular with buyers. Pre-orders of the all-new Surface Book were quickly depleted (they"ve since reopened, but with shipment times of up to 8 weeks), and Microsoft said today the Surface Pro 4 tablet is already a hit with business customers too.
Like the Surface Book, the Pro 4 can be configured with some pretty monstrous specs, and today, Microsoft opened pre-orders for the top-of-the-range Surface Pro 4 model. It comes with an Intel Core i7 (Skylake) processor, 16GB of RAM, a massive 1TB of onboard storage, and a similarly huge $2699 price tag.
However, while those who have already pre-ordered other Surface Pro 4s can expect their devices to be delivered from October 26 (or November 20, for some models), the listing for the 1TB version indicates that it will "ship by" January 22, 2016. It"s possible that shipments will begin much sooner - but if you"re planning to place a pre-order, be prepared for a long wait.
