Tag & Rename is a handy utility that designed to manage music files. With Tag & Rename, you can quickly and easily rename your music collection using the embedded tag data, write new or edit existing tag information, create tags based on file names, get songs information from freedb or Amazon.com servers and much more.
Tag & Rename supports many additional tag fields including lyrics, cover art, rating, mood, disc number, whether or not a track is part of a compilation, album artist, classical music fields (composer, conductor, etc.), and much more. It also supports various different tag formats, including mp3 (ID3v1, ID3v2.2, ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4 tags), MusePack mpc/mp+ (APEv1, APEv2 and ID3v1 tags), Windows Media - wma, asf and wmv files, Ogg Vorbis/Flac/Speex (vorbis comments), Apple iTunes and iPod aac (m4a) files including mp4, lossless m4a and protected m4p files, along with most popular lossless codecs including Monkey"s Audio, Flac, Wav Pack, Optim Frog, True Audio, Apple and Windows Media lossless formats.
What"s new:
- Added full support for PNG file type album art
- Added support for new cover standard in ogg/speex files (METADATA_BLOCK_PICTURE); you can force Tag&Rename to save cover art in this standard by checking "Use new cover art standard for ogg/speex files" option in "Advanced" settings
- If FLAC tag does not contain front cover album art but instead contains another image, Tag & Rename now will show it as the album cover
- In the Amazon search window, you can start searching by clicking the relevant Amazon button
- Improved Amazon support
- Improved file sorting
- If a file with the same name already exists, Tag & Rename can now add a number to the file name instead of overwriting the old file
- If some files were not renamed during a rename operation, Tag & Rename can selectively highlight the unmodified files
