Many of Microsoft"s hardware partners have unveiled new Windows 10 devices at this week"s Computex industry expo - from daily drivers like Dell"s latest Inspiron convertibles, to gaming powerhouses such as Digital Storm"s mighty Aura all-in-one.
Today, Microsoft offered a "sneak peak" at another device that hasn"t yet been formally announced, and which is likely to be rather exclusive. The unnamed device is in development by a "local OEM" - presumably local to Taiwan, where Computex is held - in partnership with Porsche Design.
According to Microsoft, the device will feature Windows Hello 2.0, as well as a 13.3-inch display with pen support, including the new inking features in the upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary Update. In addition to an unspecified Intel processor, Microsoft adds that the device will come with "hardware components" (!).
No further details have been revealed about the device, apart from a reference to its arrival "this Winter" - but if you"re thinking of buying it, you might want to start seriously beefing up your bank balance now.
Porsche Design devices are traditionally very pricey indeed, as you might expect of the premium marque. In the UK, for example, the country"s top handset retailer, Carphone Warehouse, is still selling the Porsche Design P"9982 running BlackBerry 10 for a whopping £1,175 GBP (around $1,700 USD) - despite that device featuring ageing specs, including the same Snapdragon S4 Plus processor that was used in phones like the Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One X.
While no price has yet been announced for the new Porsche Design Windows 10 2-in-1, it"s likely to cost far more than most buyers can afford.
