Take-Two may revive franchises like Max Payne and L.A. Noire

Take-Two Interactive, the publisher behind franchises like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead has been making waves in the gaming industry lately. Not only does Grand Theft Auto V continue to break records — it"s sold over 160 million units so far — but Take-Two is in the process of acquiring mobile publisher Zynga.

According to a new report by DualShockers, Take-Two may be working on reviving franchises like L.A. Noire and Max Payne. The company"s head, Strauss Zelnick, said the following during an earnings call.

We have the strongest and most diverse pipeline in our company"s history, comprised of new intellectual properties, as well as sequels to many of our beloved franchises. We look forward to delivering many of these titles in the coming months and beyond.

The statement was followed by a presentation where L.A. Noire, Max Payne 3, and Midnight Club were highlighted. It"s unclear if Zelnick has concrete plans to bring sequels to these three, or if this was just an example of the intellectual properties Take-Two owns. Only time will tell. Hopefully, there are concrete plans in motion because these are beloved titles.

Currently, Rockstar Games is working on Grand Theft Auto 6. However, Take-Two has many other studios that could bring other franchises back. It"ll be interesting to see what Take-Two does in the future after its Zynga acquisition.
