Target is promising pre-orders for the SNES Classic Edition for those in the US

Last year, when the NES Classic Edition was first announced, many different parts of the world got the chance to pre-order the device, well before its retail street date. But those in the United States did not have such an option, leaving many to line up in the cold at ungodly hours just for a chance to secure one. Luckily, it appears that this year, things might be a little different, as Walmart let some pre-orders loose early and now Target is chiming in stating that it will have a proper pre-order sale.

Unfortunately, there doesn"t seem to be much more information beyond that, as a representative for Target only vaguely stated: "we will have the Super NES Classic, and it will be available for pre-orders on Target.com at a later date”. While this isn"t a whole lot, it"s at least better than not having a pre-order at all like last year and certainly much better than just leaving an email like consumers are forced to do on sites like Amazon and Best Buy.

Nintendo has promised that there will be more quantities of the SNES Classic Edition when it becomes available but has also stated that it will be a limited run, just like the NES Classic Edition.
