TCL introduces the TCL 20 series with NXTVISION 2.0 and 5G for less than €300

TCL has unveiled a handful of new devices at this year"s CES, including new smartphones and tablets under its own brand. Starting with phones, here"s the new TCL 20 series, the successor to last year"s TCL 10 series.

This series includes a new and improved NXTVISION 2.0, with better SDR to HDR conversation, color calibration, and new eye safety features. The headline here is the TCL 20 5G, which is TCL"s most affordable 5G phone yet. It comes with a Snapdragon 690 chipset, which is part of the reason it"s cheaper than last year"s TCL 10 5G, which came with a Snapdragon 765. It has Smart 5G, which means it will switch between 5G and 4G to extend the battery life of the phone from the 4,500mAh battery. It also has 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

The display is a 6.67-inch Full HD+ panel with a standard 60Hz refresh rate, and it has a triple-camera setup with a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro camera. The front camera is an 8MP sensor.

Then there"s the TCL 20 SE, which is also a follow-up to another device from last year. It has a Snapdragon 460 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and up to 128GB of storage. It"s a big phone with a 6.82-inch HD+ display and a 5,000mAh battery. There are apparently two variants of this phone"s camera, with either a 48MP main camera or a 16MP one. The rest of the setup includes a 5MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth camera. The front-facing camera also varies, and it can come in either 13MP or 8MP variants.

The TCL 20 5G is available in Italy and rolling out to more markets next month starting at €299, while the TCL 20 SE will start at €149 this month. More TCL 20 series smartphones will launch in the coming weeks, though not much is known about them yet.

Moving on to tablets, TCL has two new ones, starting with the TCL NXTPAPER, which is aimed at education with a new Kids Learning feature. It has an eight-inch 4:3 Full HD display with no backlight for a "paper-like" visual experience, but it"s not e-ink and has full color support. It"s powered by a MediaTek octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage, as well as a 5,500mAh battery. There"s an 8MP rear camera, as well as a front-facing 5MP camera interpolated to 13MP.

There"s also the TCL Tab 10S, which is a more standard tablet with a 10.1-inch Full HD+ display with stylus support, which is included. It"s also powered by a MediaTek octa-core processor, and it has either 3GB or 4GB of RAM plus 32GB/64GB of internal storage. It also has an 8,000mAh battery and optional LTE connectivity. The cameras are similar to the TCL NXTPAPER.

The TCL Tab 10S will be available from March starting at 199€ for the Wi-Fi variant and €249 for the LTE-enabled version. The TCL NXTPAPER will be available from April, and it costs €349.

TCL also announced a handful of connected devices, like the MOVEAUDIO S600 true wireless earbuds, with active noise cancellation and a transparency mode. They support Bluetooth 5.0, in-ear detection for playing and pausing music, and touch controls. The earbuds should last 8 hours on their own and up to 32 hours with the charging case, plus they have IP54 dust and water resistance. The earbuds will be available next month for €149.

There"s also the TCL Wearable Display, a pair of glasses with two 1080p micro OLED displays built into them. The glasses can connect to smartphones, tablets, and PCs with a USB cable to watch movies or other media in a more immersive way, promising a 140-inch-like experience. It"s not a VR or AR headset, but it does support 3D content. The Wearable Display will be available later this year, but more details aren"t known.

TCL also has a pet tracker called MOVETRACK, which will cost €99 this spring. Finally, it will launch the TCL LINKHUB 4G Outdoor CPE, which helps extends the range of 4G connectivity for users in remote areas. This will come later this year for a yet-unknown price.
