Tekken 5 US Beta Test

Want to test drive Namco"s latest fighter for free? Now is your chance, and you can play the top players in the US at the same time.

After three consecutive beta tests in Japan (two public beta tests and one private showing), Namco is about to give the US a sneak peak at their upcoming fighting game. Thanks to our friends over at Tekken Zaibatsu, we have learned that the annual Evolution fighting game championships will play host to the first US beta test of Tekken 5.

Evolution 2004 will take place from July 29 – August 1 at Cal Poly University in southern California. A Namco official will provide a short presentation on the cabinet, card system (for character customization), and gameplay changes, followed by free play for all, and a survey about your play time. In addition to the Tekken 5 beta test, Evo2k4 will feature tournaments for Tekken 4, Soul Calibur 2, Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Guilty Gear X2, Tekken Tag Tournament, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo.
