Telstra is giving its customers 200GB of free Microsoft OneDrive storage

On July 27, Microsoft will finally introduce the changes it announced last November for its OneDrive cloud storage service, reducing its free allowance from 15GB to just 5GB, and ditching the free 15GB camera roll bonus altogether.

Those changes have prompted many OneDrive users to seek workarounds or consider alternatives - but for those on Telstra, a free solution has conveniently become available.

The Australian telecoms giant is offering 200GB of free OneDrive storage to all new and existing customers with pre-paid or monthly mobile services, mobile broadband plans, or home broadband connections.

As Telstra explains:

  1. Your Telstra ID
Your Telstra ID will tell us if you have an eligible service to redeem this offer. A Telstra ID refers to a single username and password that is your key to making the most of your Telstra products and services. For example, if you have My Account or the Telstra 24x7 App, then your login is your Telstra ID. If you don’t have a Telstra ID, you can create one during the sign-up process for this offer.
  2. A Microsoft account
Your Microsoft account will be used to access and manage your OneDrive storage. If you don’t already have a Microsoft account, you can create one during sign-up.
  3. Completing set-up
Once you’re set up, you can download the Microsoft OneDrive app to multiple devices such as your phone, tablet or computer. You can then transfer and share your files and adjust your settings to auto upload as needed (data charges apply).

Telstra customers can redeem the offer by signing in on this page.
