TENAA posting reveals new details about upcoming Moto Z2 Play

Last year, Lenovo surprised the world by debuting various entries into their new Moto Z line. The handsets offered a similar design so that it could accommodate modular accessories called Moto Mods. The firm has committed to offering no less than 12 Moto Mods a year, so it comes as no surprise that the alleged successors which have been leaking online recently look very familiar.

Towards the end of last month, we got our first look at the Moto Z2 Play. The handset offered a redesigned home button, and more importantly, a much thinner profile than the Moto Z Play. Now, thanks to a TENAA listing, we are getting more details about its measurements and battery capacity.

While it was known to be thinner than its predecessor, the Moto Z2 Play looks to be coming in at a svelte 5.99mm. This would mean that it is roughly the same thickness as the Moto Z (5.19mm), or a millimeter thinner than last year"s Moto Z Play, which measured in at 6.99mm. In order to accommodate this new size, it appears that the device"s battery capacity will be a lot smaller than most, coming in at 2820mAh. This is quite a huge difference compared to last year"s model, which offered a hefty 3510mAh battery. Naturally, we will have to wait and see what this means when it comes to real world use.
