Tesla Powerbank: A portable battery to charge your gadgets on the go

Tesla is no stranger when it comes to making headlines with the announcement of its Roaster and its first foray into trucks with the Semi. The company was further buoyed by news that Walmart had pre-ordered 15 of the latter for testing purposes. While these vehicles won"t be spotted on roads until 2019 and 2020 respectively, it seems that they weren"t the only Tesla-branded products that the company had in store for us.

While nowhere near as intriguing or as exciting as its range of electric vehicles, the Tesla Powerbank is a portable battery designed to charge your devices while on the go. Incorporating a design "inspired after Tesla’s supercharger monument at the Tesla Design Studio" the Powerbank features integrated USB and Lightning connectors while a detachable micro USB connector is also included. It also packs a single 18650 cell with 3,350mAh capacity, the same as found in batteries powering the company"s Model S and Model X electric vehicles and DIY powerwall solutions built by resourceful makers.

If interested, the Tesla Powerbank costs $45 but, as of the time of writing, is currently sold out. Otherwise, if you"re interested in other Tesla-branded products, the company also offers a scale model desktop supercharger which can charge devices via its USB port. Also priced at $45, those keen on getting their hands on the supercharger will also have to exercise some patience as it is also sold out.
