Tetris Effect is coming to Xbox platforms with an exclusive multiplayer expansion

The award-winning Tetris Effect is finally hitting Xbox platforms, with Enhance Games today announcing the game for Windows 10, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Game Pass. The title originally released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive back in 2018, which was followed by a PC launch as an exclusive on the Epic Games Store last year.

The Xbox version is slated to land during the 2020 holiday season, and it will launch with the newly announced Tetris Effect: Connected free expansion. Connected transforms the title into a multiplayer experience with cross-play between the aforementioned Xbox platforms.

It lets up to three players join together via local or online play to match bricks either cooperatively or competitively. For example, the new Zone Battle mode will spice up the usual one versus one Tetris battles with a time-stopping mechanic, while the Connected mode will join together up to three players into a single game of Tetris to try and beat the game"s CPU bosses.

The original single-player mode will be included as well, and on the Xbox Series X and PC versions of it, support for higher frame rates and resolutions will be available. Tetris Effect will also support Xbox Smart Delivery.

The Tetris Effect: Connected multiplayer expansion will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Epic Games Store versions during the summer of 2021, also as a free update.
