Sony unveiled its latest Japanese hardware lineup earlier today at the 2010 Tokyo Game Show.
One of the more striking models at the Sony booth was the classic white 320GB PlayStation 3. As seen on the official Sony Japan website, the 320GB HDD-equipped model will sell for ¥34,980 ($410) and comes with a single, matching DualShock 3 controller. Classic white was previously only available in 160GB form.
The PlayStation Portable is getting some new colors as well. Two limited-edition color combinations in Black/Red and White/Blue Both will be made available on November 18 for ¥17,800 ($208).
Black and red limited-edition PlayStation Portable
Also being introduced today was the Monster Hunter PlayStation Portable, designed by both Sony and Capcom. Superficially, the system"s speaker holes have been made to look like Felyne footprints, and there are illustrations all around the unit. More substantially, the analogue thumb pad has been given a bit of indentation, and the system includes an expanded battery pack as standard. The Monster Hunter PlayStation Portable Model is priced at ¥19,800 ($230) and will be released on December 1.
Neither the classic white PlayStation 3 nor the updated PlayStation Portable units have been announced for the European/North American market at the present time.
